Sanja Kljajic
Sanja Kljajic is a journalist and assistant at the Department of Media Studies at the University of Novi Sad. She works not only for DW, but also for other media in Serbia and the Western Balkans. She has a degree in Journalism and Communication Studies from the University of Novi Sad in Serbia. The focus of her academic work is on public media and audience research. Sanja began her journalistic career as a reporter for “Vojvodina Radio-Television Information Program,” where she worked until 2016, when she resigned from her job in protest at censorship. She is vice president of the Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia and a member of the Broadcasting Experts Group of the European Federation of Journalists. Sanja is the winner of the Dusan Bogavac Award for Ethics and Courage 2016, the EU Investigative Journalism Award 2020, the National Prize for Dignified Reporting on Poverty and Social Marginalization 2023 and the “Mirdita, Dobar dan” Prize 2019 for the documentary film “Albanian women are our sisters.”
Ksenija Pavkov

Ksenija Pavkov
Ksenija Pavkov is an assistant and a student of Interdisciplinary PhD Studies in the field of social and human sciences at the Department for Media studies at the Faculty of Philosophy, University in Novi Sad. She completed her undergraduate studies in Journalism and her master’s studies in Communicology at the Department of Media Studies, Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad. As an Erasmus Mundus scholarship holder , she also attended the master’s program “Culturology” at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana.
Since 2015, she has been working as a TV journalist, and is currently employed at N1 TV, the Serbian affiliate of CNN. She collaborates on a freelance basis with numerous reputable international media as an expert on the issue of the refugee and migrant crisis.
She has received several relevant journalism awards. In october 2024. she has received the European Union’s regional award for investigative journalism for her documentary film “In the Network,” which investigates the operations of criminal smuggling gangs preying on refugees and migrants who have been active in Serbia for years. In 2023, she was awarded the Best Journalist recognition by the Independent Journalists’ Association of Vojvodina. For her reporting on Vietnamese workers who were victims of human trafficking, she received the “Alarm of the Year” award from the feminist collective BeFem and the “Laza Kostić” award from the Journalists’ Association of Serbia. She is also a recipient of the European Anti-Poverty Network award for dignified reporting on poverty and social exclusion, as well as the first prize in the category of television features at the International Festival of Student Journalism “On the Record.”
